ADEBAYO ADEGOKE BECOMES PROFESSOR OF CHEMICAL PATHOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY
Adebayo Olugbenga Adegoke (FIMLS,LIBMS)
joined Madonna University, Nigeria as Lecturer 1 in 2013 and has now been promoted to the professorial cadre as a Professor of Chemical Pathology and Toxicology in August 2023.
Professor Adebayo Olugbenga Adegoke, A Medical Laboratory Scientist was born in Ibadan Oyo state several years ago into the Family of Chief Oladosu Olusola and Mrs Eunice Iyabo Adegoke. He had his early education at St Claire’s Nursery/Primary school, Oshogbo, Wesley College Demonstration school, Elekuro Ibadan, Christ Church School III, Mapo Ibadan and St Paul’s Anglican Primary School Omu-Aran, Kwara State. He attended Oro Grammar School and Wesley College of Science for his secondary education.
Professor Adebayo attended School of Medical Laboratory Science University College Hospital, Ibadan where he obtained his Associate of Institute of Medical Laboratory Science (AIMLS) in 1996 with bias in Chemical Pathology. Professor Adebayo further obtained Fellowship of Institute of Medical Laboratory Science (FIMLS) in 2001 with bias in Medical Microbiology from School of Medical Laboratory Science University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital. He also obtained Post Graduate Diploma (Microbiology) from University of Port Harcourt in 2002, Master of Science (M.Sc Chemical Pathology) in 2006 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD Chemical Pathology) in 2010.
Professor Adebayo served as Assistant General Secretary and General Secretary of His student association in University College Hospital Ibadan branch and in the National Association as Assistant General Secretary.
Professor Adebayo has worked in various Private and governmental organizations as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Professor Adebayo joined Madonna University, Nigeria as Lecturer 1 in 2013 and rose to become a Professor of Chemical Pathology and Toxicology in August 2023.
Professor Adebayo served as State Secretary, Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) Rivers state branch (2013-2017).He was a member National executive council Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, (2013-2017) and also a member Forum of Chairmen and Secretaries, Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, (2013-2017). He is also a Licentiate of Institute of Biomedical Scientist (IBMS),UK.
Professor Adebayo is married with kids. He is a researcher per excellence with bias in Chemical Pathology and Toxicology. He has published more than 80 articles in peer reviewed local and international Journals. He is a reviewer to some local and international Journals. His hobbies include Reading, Writing, watching films and games.
