This year’s annual Andrology symposium was a step ahead in Medical diagnosis. The symposium was organised by Andro Scientific in collaboration with Shivani Scientific and JNCI on the 14th -15th July 2021 at Chemline Training Centre Ikeja.

The Chairman of the occasion was Mr Voke Oshevire, who is the Executive Director, JNCI Nigeria.

In his welcome address, Mr Kehinde Wojuade said that the essence of the program was a need for biomedical Scientists to keep themselves abreast with the latest trend in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).

The keynote speaker, Prof. Oluyemi Akinloye took participants round the topic ” Diagnosis of Infertility in the 21st Century, How prepared are the Biomedical Scientists?”

Other speakers include Dr Gbemi Olaniyan Ph.d who spoke on “Diagnosing Male Factor Infertility: Looking beyond Conventional SFA”. “Clinical Utility of Makler Counting Chamber in Semen Analysis” was presented by Dr Ekun Oloruntoba Ph.d.
Prof Kolawole Oyedeji delved into “Asymptomatic Bacteriospermia in Male Infertility: Causes & Diagnosis”

The peak of the occasion was the launching of the wondersperm Computer Assisted Sperm Autoanalyzer(CASA) by Dr Fasasi Olaleke Ph.d.

With CASA, the simple user interface makes all analyses very quick and easy to perform in a precise, objective manner with reproducible results, which is not possible in manual analysis.

This was indeed a step forward in Semen Analysis.

The Chairman of Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) Lagos, Mr Olumide Fadipe, Chairman of AMLSN SuruLere Chapter Mr Edet Obongama, HRH Eze Augustine Ebisi and the Vice Chairman of Guild of Medical Laboratory Directors (GLMD) Lagos, Mr Adekoya Abimbola Julius were present at the occasion.
