BBSN CALLS FOR EFFECTIVE AND DYNAMIC LEADERSHIP IN THE ASSOCIATION
The leaders of thoughts assembled at the Secretarial of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) Lagos Branch on the 29th of December 2022. The gathering was during the retreat for the new executive members of the Blood Bank Society of Nigeria (BBSN) Lagos State Branch.
Mr Chima Joseph Anorue, the BBSN Chairman, welcomed the guests and told them that the reason for the get together was for the new executive members of the Association to plan and formulate ideas and policies for the years ahead.
The theme of the retreat “EFFECTIVE AND DYNAMIC LEADERSHIP” was delivered by the retired Director of Medical Laboratory Service (DMLS), Ministry of Health Lagos, Alhaji Tajudeen Olatunji. In his presentation, he emphasized that a leader must have vision, drive the vision and possess the traits of leadership.The Retired DMLS told the people present that leaders must possess the following characteristics, empathy, effective communication, Decision-making trait, resilience and ability to delegate duties.
Mr Akujuobi Igwe delivered a paper on ” How to be a leader everyone loves to work with.
“Leadership styles you should know: what type of leader are you” was delivered by Mr Abiodun Hamzat.
The immediate past Chairman of BBSN, Dr Thomas Fabunmi took the people through the journey of the Association and the achievements so far.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the immediate past Chairman of AMLSN Lagos, Mr Olumide Fadipe, National Vice President of GMLD South West Mr Olumuyiwa Onaneye, the Chairman of AMLSN Lagos, Mr Yemi Abioye and Chairman of the Guild of Medical Laboratory Directors (GMLD) Lagos Branch, Mr Adekoya Abimbola Julius.
Other people in attendance were, Chris Ubi,the Secretary General of BBSN and the Moderator of the program, Osehon Emma, Nwaka Ikechukwu, Ibikunle Olusola, Anyanwu Marcellinus and Olayinka O.A.
The retreat ended with a lot to eat and drink.
