was laid to rest on Friday 4th February 2022 at her home town, Ilisan Remo in Ogun State.

Abigail Olayibo Oremosu,was born on the 25th of November,1937 at Isara Remo in Ogun State to Late Joel Iweneye Talabi,a teacher and tax clerk and Madam Comfort Folake Talabi,(nee Salami) a trader and Cocoa Merchant.

She attended Isara Wesley School between 1945 and 1950,and Sagamu Girls School between 1951
and 1952. She proceeded on the advice of her eldest cousin Mrs Dorcas Akinsola (nee Talabi) to
further her secondary school education at Methodist Girls High School (M.G.H.S), Yaba from 1953 to
1958 where her graduation was accompanied by a superb testimonial by the then principal Ms W.K.
Walker.

Her next stint was at School of Agriculture Akure (as the first female student and the only one
throughout her stay). In 1959 and as an exceptional graduate she was accepted at the school of
Agriculture Ibadan for Agric-Superintendent-in-Training Program) between 1960 and September 1961.

She was awarded scholarship to study Dairy Farm Science at the Studley College, Warwickshire
from September 1961 to 1964 (where again among her first caps she was the first black girl).

She was offered admission into the Wolverhampton College for Technical Teachers Course and then
seconded to the Ministry of Agriculture.

She rather opted to return to Nigeria and was posted to Agege Dairy Farm later became Head as a first woman where she remained till retirement in 1979 to pay greater attention to family and business.

Abigail was active in many social and religious circles right from
her days in school. Apart from being the captain, Livingstone House (1958) and a member of the
Choral Group all while at M.G.H.S Yaba, she was an active member of Red Cross Society and the
Debating Society.She was actively involved as a member of the Scripture Union at MGHS Yaba and
she continued like this until,upon her progress to the school of Agriculture.

She founded Moor Plantation Ibadan Branch of the Students Christian Movement. She was also a member of The Drama Club.

It was at the School of Agriculture, Ibadan she joined the Thinkers Club.
Wife of an avid Rotarian, she herself was quite active in and became the president of Inner Wheel
Club of Opebi,(in 1991/1992 Inner Wheel Year).

It is also worth mentioning that, she has also been active in Family Planning and Marriage Guidance
Group Agege, Lady farmers Club, Unique ladies Club llisan Remo,Full Gospel Businessmen’s
Fellowship International where she has received awards for her contributions and performance.

Being born a Methodist,she has always loved and enjoyed her religion and has always talked about
how grateful she is to God for His direction. In fact, she recalls a surreal encounter where she heard
him say, I will be with you till the end, while at the Akure School of Agriculture.

Her loyalty to the Methodist Church is undoubted as she always stuck to worshiping at Methodist churches wherever her journeys took her.

Consequently, she has been a member, Methodist Church Yaba (where her confirmation took place), Methodist church Hawling and Salford England where she got married in September 1964.

She has also been a member of Isara Methodist church, (the church she was brought up by her parents), and the Akure and Ibadan (Agbeni in particular) Methodist Churches.
But It Is at the Agege Methodist Church (Tabon-Tabon) where she spent the greater part of her life as a
Christian, from 1967 till death that she spent most of her Christian Life.

At this church, she was Matron to several societies including Egbe Ibukun,Band of Hope and Young
Shall Grow,Boys and Girls Brigade,Ladies and Girls fellowship.
As a lay preacher,she was actively involved in church planting and she served as secretary to the first
female society of Agege Methodist Church, Egbe Itesiwaju Society.

She was also a secretary to leaders meeting (1983) and treasurer of the Women Fellowship at both local and circuit level. She was closely involved with Wesley Guild.

She has supported and collaborated with the efforts of faithful, chosen Men and Women of God that have
seen the local church make giant strides and leaps including attaining the status of Cathedral, under
the new Diocese of Agege North.

In 1994, Abigail Oremosu was decorated as lyalode ljo in a ceremony carried out by the then Bishop of lkorodu, the overseeing Diocese at the same time; alongside other prominent church members;
Pa Olomola, Madam C.O.Ositelu and Pa M.H When who were conferred with the Baba ljo, lya ljo and
Balogun ljo titles respectively.

In 2011,she was awarded with fellow of the Diocese of lkorodu.

She has been happily married to a grand prince of the Ladejobi Ruling House of llisan Remo, Sir（Prince) Samuel Oremosu, (Knight of John Wesley), about which she fondly says by virtue of his being a Sir,I am now a Lady.

The mentorship that led to this marriage was by none other than the great Pa Samuel Adewale
Solarin of blessed memory and his amiable wife Margaret Folashade Solarin.

Their Marriage has been blessed with good children, all professionals and grandchildren.Together
with her husband they raised many children in the family as their own who today are celebrating her
life and times.

She is also an author of a book titled ‘Life and Living’.
She slept in the Lord at 6.30am on Thursday 30 December, 2021
