Oluwaseyi Adegboyega was born into the noble family of Adeyeba in the ancient city of Ile Ife, the cradle of the Yoruba race   on 7th day of February, 1955. He started his elementary education as early as 7 years old and thereafter enrolled at Ife Anglican Grammar School, Ile-Ife, Nigeria for his secondary education, where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC) in June, 1973.     

 Cerebral Oluwaseyi, in his bid to fulfill his academic destiny, was offered admission to read Medical Laboratory Science in the University College Hospital (UCH), University of Ibadan in October 1975 and completed the programme in 1979 with an Associate of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN). Upon completion his one-year mandatory NYSC programme, he went back to UCH for a Fellowship training in Medical Parasitology & Entomology from 1980-1981and he was subsequently registered as a Fellow, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (FMLSCN).

Adegboyega, still thirsty for more knowledge, enrolled at the University of Ibadan (Postgraduate School), Ibadan, Nigeria, for higher degrees of M.Sc in Veterinary Microbiology & Parasitology  which he completed in 1983, M.Phil in Veterinary Microbiology & Parasitology which he completed in 1985 and Ph.D in Veterinary Parasitology which he completed in 1995. Resilient Oluwaseyi had exciting working experiences that spanned about two decades before joining the ivory tower as an academic. He was at different times a primary school teacher at Ile-Ife, Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist, Principal Medical Laboratory Scientist, Assistant Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist with Oyo State Hospital Management Board and Secretary/State Coordinator of the Oyo State Task Force on Guineaworm Eradication Programme, State Secretariat, Ibadan. Upon creation of Osun State in 1991, he became Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist, Osun State Hospital Management Board, Assistant Director, PHC, Osun State Ministry of Health, Ag. Deputy Director, Vector Control Division, Osun State Ministry of Health and Pioneer Chairman, Osun State Task Force on Guinea Worm Eradication Programme, Ministry of Health, Osogbo Nigeria.

He had also worked as a tutor at the College of Health Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Adjunct Lecturer, School of Medical Laboratory Science, UCH, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria and Adjunct Lecturer in Microbiology and Tropical Diseases, Federal School for Tutors of Health Science, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria.

After calling it quit with the Osun State Civil Service, he joined Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Nigeria as a Lecturer and rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Medical Parasitology & Entomology in the Department of Medical Microbiology & Parasitology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Health Science, LAUTECH, Osogbo campus.

At LAUTECH, Professor Oluwaseyi Adeyeba had held several University appointments which included but not limited to: Pioneer Head, Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, College of Health Sciences, Pioneer   Deputy Dean, Students Affairs, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Nigeria, Pioneer Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, LAUTECH, Osogbo, Nigeria, Former Chairman, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences Board, Former Chairman, Faculty Review Panel, Former Chairman, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences Postgraduate Committee, Former Member, Faculty Board of Clinical Sciences, LAUTECH, Osogbo, Nigeria, Former Faculty Representative On University Research Committee, Member, college of Health Academic Board, Member, College Review Panel, Former Chairman, LAUTECH Mass Transit Sub Committee, Osogbo, Former Chairman, College Accommodation Management Committee, Osogbo, Former Member, Committee of Deans, Member, LAUTECH Senate, Former Member, LAUTECH Postgraduate School Board, Former Member, Appointment & Promotion Committee of LAUTECH, Former Member, Board of Pre-degree Science, LAUTECH, Former Member, University Development Committee,  Former Member, Administrative and Technical Promotion Committee of LAUTECH, Former Chairman, Examination Malpractice Panel, Coopted Member, University Curriculum Committee, Former Member, LAUTECH Governing Council and Member of several other committees in the University.

Head, Department of Nursing, University of Benin, Nigeria, Member, University of Benin Senate and Chairman, Accreditation Committee of Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Benin, Nigeria.

Professor Adeyeba’s academic versatility similarly enjoyed the patronage of the National University Commission (NUC), Abuja. On several occasion, he had been appointed by the NUC to lead Accreditation teams to Nigerian Universities, Prof. Adeyeba has also in the past been appointed by NUC as a Member, Ad-hoc Clinical Postgraduate drafting Curriculum Committee.

He has so many peer reviewed works and published articles in highly ranked international and local scholarly journals. He had supervised and mentored many undergraduate and postgraduate students to bag apex university degree of Ph.D.  As a matter of fact, many of his students are Readers and Professors in the Universities around the world.

Professor Oluwaseyi Adegboyega Adeyeba has served as a Governing Board Member of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and he  is a member of different professional associations such Associate Institute of Biomedical Sciences (AIBMS), London since May, 1991, Member, Nigeria Institute of Management (MNIM), Member, Nigerian Society of Parasitology (MNSP),  member, Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria and Fellow member of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (FMLSCN).

He is a Justice of The Peace by the State of Osun State Judiciary, a good Christian leader and his recent experience shows that he is indeed under the divine coverage.
