 The courtesy visit of the Executive members of the Association of Medical Ultrasound Practitioners of Nigeria (AMUPN) to the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) headquarter in Abuja on Thursday 5th November 2020 was mutually beneficial.

 The meeting started when the President of AMUPN, Dr Bode Adewunmi in  his opening speech commended the Registrar and his team for their efforts to institutionalise the practice of ultrasound in Nigeria through training and regulations. This singular effort according to him will bring sanity to the practice and also reduce the rate at which our people are seeking for training abroad.

 He presented the requests of his association to the management of the board that they should carry the association along in their policies on ultrasound that include training, induction and monitoring.

Besides, he demanded to know the state of the admission for the non-radiographers in the on-going board training .

 In his response, the Registrar, Prof Mark Okeji congratulated the AMUPN executives for the success of their just concluded conference. He promised to work with the team to achieve standard ultrasound practice in Nigeria.

 He reminded the president  that most of the prayers have been taken care of by the board.

 On the issues of admission into the training, Prof Okeji said there was no ill feeling about it. He restated that all candidates will be equally treated and admitted on merit. He said Covid-19 pandemic disrupted most of  the programs of the board this year.

 He assured him that by next year the program will kick off.

 The Registrar said that the certificates and the licenses of those who have completed the training are now ready for distribution.

 The  meeting was attended by the General Secretary and Publicity Secretary of AMUPN, Barr. Lekan Ogundare and Mr Adekoya Abimbola Julius.

On the part of RRBN were the Head of the Institute, Mr Ejimofor M. C, the Head of Monitoring, Mr Onwuegbuchim Ebere, Head of Publicity and Protocol, Mr Odukoya Kayode, Head of Registration, Mrs Ramos F. B
